I said to him that my strategy is usually to try and win big at the start and hold on to what I had. It's much the same combination as Monopoly of a little luck but also ruthlessness and skill at reading the play.

Can you tell I was always a fan? I think my socialist streak enjoyed the light-hearted outlet the game gave me to be a heartless capitalist for the evening.Craig Gallagherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16651039747592264903noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872819010848426693.post-34074821838341798982012-02-21T09:36:05.049-05:002012-02-21T09:36:05.049-05:00That's a great idea for a game. Might have one copy around still, somewhere. Success depended ultimately on chance, but brought with it the honorary title of "Beloved Leader."jeremy bangsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872819010848426693.post-71009219613473966962012-02-20T12:38:54.011-05:002012-02-20T12:38:54.011-05:00Heh, heh, heh. Wish I had known the maker would go out of business (that's an interesting story itself); I'd have bought a warehouse full to give as gifts.hcrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07334093881332383848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872819010848426693.post-43133220138451635132012-02-20T08:35:34.360-05:002012-02-20T08:35:34.360-05:00I tended to dislike Monopoly. Sure, it was a drag when someone else got off to that headstart. But oftentimes that was me, and that felt great! Because it does make you feel smarter than everyone else.

Of course, this from the idiot who quit school a semester and a half before earning his BS, to go to work for a Wall St. firm with close ties to Michael Milken. So maybe I was just too thick to get the point of Monopoly. But maybe somebody should design a game for guys like me, that hits you over the head with it even more than Monopoly did. I don't think Grand Theft Auto is making that point with most of its players.dan allossohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10733670017382794923noreply@blogger.com
