And yes, he had a great sense of humor. He also had great stories: didn't he tell one about taking a day off from the SHA and going swimming with C. Vann Woodward and some other really famous southern historian? And, of course, he was the person who introduced Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes.

Can't imagine conferences without him.

He will be sorely missed.hcrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07334093881332383848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872819010848426693.post-75164424807653123242012-11-07T05:52:44.382-05:002012-11-07T05:52:44.382-05:00A timely review of the Wyatt-Brown festschrift, ed...A timely review of the Wyatt-Brown festschrift, edited by Kilbride and Frank:

http://southernroundtable.wordpress.com/2012/11/05/a-review-of-frank-and-kilbrides-southern-character-essays-in-honor-of-bertram-wyatt-brown-by-james-hill-welborn-iii/Randallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16755286304057000048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7872819010848426693.post-36014281819536020712012-11-07T05:25:09.478-05:002012-11-07T05:25:09.478-05:00CM: That's great to hear!
